…awards annual college scholarships totaling over $50,000.

…retains an investment portfolio, which is used to provide significant contributions to a number of local charities and community outreach programs.

…introduced the AAUW Start Smart salary negotiation workshops to the Greater Milwaukee community and continues to support these workshops on college and university campuses in the area.

…supports students to enable attendance at the National Conference of College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL), America’s premier conference for college women,

Equal pay…meets with state legislative representatives to address issues that are important to both women and our families;

…participates in the registration of those in the community who are eligible to vote;

…holds Equal Pay Day awareness events each year.

…published an historical hardcover book, Women Making a Difference, by Priscilla Pardini, which chronicles the remarkable journey of the Milwaukee Branch since 1894.

The AAUW Milwaukee Branch, first established in 1894, has a membership that includes people from the Greater Milwaukee area. Members develop friendships and take advantage of networking opportunities by attending meetings, serving on committees, and assisting at events.Socializing

Monthly Socials and Luncheon Programs are typically held on the first Saturday of each month, September through June, in facilities at the Italian Community Center. Our members and guests begin by gathering at 11am to network and socialize, then enjoy a lunch and speaker at 11:30am.

Branch publications include a monthly newsletter with topics, news, and updates on relevant issues, as well as information on upcoming Branch meetings, committee work and events. Our branch members also receive state and national publications, which provide articles concerning issues significant to women and girls, and inform members about noteworthy activities related to AAUW’s mission.

LevitaMembership is open to any person who holds an associate degree or higher from an accredited United States or international college or university.

Milwaukee Branch boasts having a membership that is diverse in several respects, including younger average age, especially serving on the Board of Directors. Some members of the Branch are currently assisting the state in establishing a Wisconsin Student Advisory Group.
