The Milwaukee Branch: 

…awards annual college scholarships totaling over $50,000 Alma Lopex scholarship recipienteach year.

…retains an investment portfolio, which is used to provide significant contributions to any number of local charities and community outreach programs.

…introduced the AAUW Start Smart salary negotiation workshops to the Greater Milwaukee community and continues to support these workshops on college and university campuses in the area.

Equal Pay Day with Lyn Hildenbrand and Maureen Pylman…meets with state legislative representatives to address issues that are important to both women and their families; …participates in voter registration activities; …holds Equal Pay Day awareness events each year.

…published a historical hardcover book, Women Making a Difference, by Priscilla Pardini, which chronicles the remarkable journey of the Milwaukee Branch since 1894.

…maintains social and office space for the benefit of members.

The AAUW Milwaukee Branch, first established in 1894, has a membership that includes people from the Greater Milwaukee area. Members develop friendships and take advantage of networking opportunities by attending meetings, serving on committees, and assisting at events. Socializing

Monthly Socials and Luncheon Programs are typically held the first Saturday of the month, September through May, virtually and in person. Members and guests begin by gathering at 11 am to network and socialize, with the program beginning at 11:30 am.

Branch publications include bi-monthly newsletters with topics, news, and updates on relevant issues, and information on upcoming Branch meetings, committee work, and events. Our branch members also receive state and national publications, which provide Stock photo of graduatearticles concerning issues significant for women and girls and inform members about noteworthy activities related to AAUW’s mission.

Membership is open to any person who holds an associate degree or higher from an accredited United States or international college or university.Levita

Milwaukee Branch boasts having a membership that is diverse in several respects, with younger average age, including those serving on the Board of Directors. Some members of the Branch who are also on the State Board are currently assisting the state in establishing a Wisconsin-based Student Advisory Group.
